Using movies in the classroom is an excellent way to allow pupils to explore their creativity while developing their digital skills. We have found that iMovie is an accessible and intuitive program that pupils easily understand. However, you must have a Macbook, an iPad or an iPhone to use it. If you do not, we have found Moviemaker to be a similar program that works very well.
Videos can be used in a number of different ways in the classroom. We used them for making traditional short films, Vlogs, “How to” videos, trailer videos (which describe books or movies they have seen), presentations, and for documenting the pupils’ work processes. We also made videos that documented our school celebrations and class trips.
